Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching and it’s the perfect time to take stock of what you’re thankful for. This month, at the entrance to our Children’s Department, we have a space where kids can tell us what they’re thankful for. Our librarian Rachel printed images of turkeys, which are laminated and taped up to the boards. Kids fill out a paper feather, which we then add to a turkey. Easy peasy! So far we’ve filled three turkeys and are working on number four. The kids love it; we’ve gone through hundreds of feathers already. Soon we’re going to run out of space on the turkeys; the plan is to have kids then write on paper maple leaves that will get taped to the windows right behind where I was standing to take the picture. It will be a fall wonderland!
It’s really fun to see what kids are thankful for.
